Dr. Thomas D. Boston
CEO and Director of Research and Innovation
Dr. Thomas "Danny" Boston is a Professor of Economics at Georgia Tech where he has served on the faculty since 1985. He is also a successful entrepreneur. Between 1994 and 2006 he was the President of Boston Research Group Inc and, in 2007, launched a new enterprise: EuQuant.
A native of Jacksonville Florida, he received a Ph.D. in Economics from Cornell University. During his career he has served as President of the National Economic Association, editor of The Review of Black Political Economy and Senior Economist to the Joint Economic Committee of Congress.
A distinguished researcher and a national and international consultant, he is currently working with the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and the House and Senate Small Business Committees to develop legislation aimed at increasing the capacity of small disadvantaged businesses engaged in federal contracting. He is also assisting the Nigerian National Assembly in establishing a National Budgeting and Research Office, and he formerly worked with UNESCO Brazil to develop policies aimed at enhancing racial equality in education and business in that nation. Dr Boston is in the process of completing his seventh book which will focus on high growth businesses. It is entitled, "Secrets of Gazelles". He holds major research grants from the MacArthur Foundation, US Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Kauffman Foundation. In 2006, Dr. Boston was awarded Ga. Tech's Ivan Allen College Legacy Award, given annually to the faculty who exhibits the most exemplary research and community service.
